Failte Ireland's Webcheck program is a free evaluation service aimed at helping tourism & hospitality businesses to improve their websites. The evaluations are carried out by professional e-business consultants on behalf of the Irish Tourism Board. Each participant gets an evaluation report outlining how to improve their website. When our friend Erwan Bertrand in Muckross Park sent us a copy of his report, we had to post some of it here...
"Our meeting began with Erwan telling me about the great relationship with they have with Visrez. Since his website was built there has been a continuous and significant increase in the amount of bookings"
"During our meeting Erwan was required to take the telephone calls (20 – 30) for bookings to the hotel".
"All requested changes to the website are generally carried out by Visrez within 24 hours and often within a few hours. Visrez also provide 3 – 4 hours of SEO each Week and as a result the website performs very well in Google. In most cases it appears on page 1 and often at the top of page 1".
"The client uses the Visrez CMS and updates the site daily with content and offers".
"The website was benchmarked against its two main competitors and was found to be performing far better than each. While only slight issues were found with the Muckross park website several medium to large issues were found with each of its competitors."
"The website has very good SEO in place and several good calls to action. The client runs Google Add campaigns and the Visrez ezine system".
"Overall this is one of the best hotel sites encountered in the Webcheck program".
This shows you don't need a fancy website, Muckross Park is more than three years old and still out-performs their competition. This is not down to us, the photographs they produced sell the hotel far better than anything we could have come up with. It's nice to get feedback from a professional third party who knows what they're talking about. It shows that with the right systems and support things fall into place.
Good luck to Erwan, Fiona and the rest of the of the crew in the Muckross Park
